Butterhead Lettuce

A buttery little heartbreaker — soft, supple, thick, and far too smooth for his own good. Those lush leaves don’t just curl… they fold into themselves, rich and tempting, like he’s showing off that full, velvety body on purpose. Cool at first touch, then suddenly rich and yielding, he’s the kind that knows exactly how satisfying he is — and isn’t shy about it.

Sowing & Growing
Start him indoors for an early tease, or plant him outdoors from March to September and watch him settle in fast. Give him 25–30 cm of space — he doesn’t like to be cramped when he’s showing off. Thin him gently and he’ll reward you, firming up, filling out, and becoming far more irresistible under your attention.

Care & Conditions
Keep him teasingly moist — never soaked — just enough to keep him soft, lush, and ready. He enjoys a little shade when things get too hot, but give him sun and he’ll slowly bulk up, richer and fuller by the day. Feed him every few weeks and he’ll respond eagerly, producing thick, tender leaves that practically melt when you handle them.

Harvesting
Take his outer leaves for a slow, cheeky taste, or go all in after 8–10 weeks when he’s full, firm, and impossible to ignore. The more you take, the more he gives back, pushing out fresh, indulgent growth again and again. Smooth, rich, and just a little bit naughty, he’s the kind that keeps you reaching in… and never quite lets you feel done.
